How to Prepare for Your First Online Quran Class

Date: 2026-06-26

Taking your first online Quran class can feel a little nervous. Will the technology work? Will the teacher be strict? What do I need to prepare?

Relax. Online Quran classes are incredibly easy and stress-free. Here is a quick checklist to ensure your first class is a total success.

1. Check Your Equipment

You don't need a fancy setup. A laptop, tablet, or even a modern smartphone will work perfectly.

Just make sure:

  • Your internet connection is stable.
  • Your microphone and speakers are working.
  • You have downloaded the required app (usually Skype or Zoom).

2. Find a Quiet Space

This is a religious class. You need focus and respect.

Find a quiet room away from the TV, pets, and family chatter. A peaceful environment will help you concentrate and show respect for the Quran.

3. Have Your Materials Ready

If you are a beginner, you won't need anything—the teacher will share the Noorani Qaida on the screen.

If you already read, it is helpful to have your own physical copy of the Mushaf (Quran) next to you, along with a notebook and pen to write down any Tajweed rules you learn.

4. Be Ready to Make Mistakes

Your first class is an evaluation. The teacher wants to hear your mistakes!

Do not feel shy or embarrassed if you mispronounce a word. The teacher is there to help you, not to judge you.
